WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Charmed Season 3, Episode 3, "Triage," which aired Sunday on The CW.

Abigael Jameson-Caine has never particularly liked The Charmed Ones -- especially Maggie --  but often ends up helping them when they're in need of power. While Mel has insisted there's "good" in her, Abigael consistently reminds them that she only helps if it doesn't interfere with her agenda. However, so as to keep magic from dying, Abigael works with Mel to restore the Charmed Ones' memory of where they hid pieces of the source in "Triage," the latest episode of Charmed.  In turn, this inadvertently sparks an entirely new demonic side to Abby.

After Abby restores pieces of The Charmed One's memories to where they hid their piece of the Source, she's barely able to stand. Mel spends time with a then-dying Abby, puzzling over the memory she regained which contained the word Evergreen and the number 2070. Mel soon connects the word Evergreen to being the name of the cemetery where her mom is buried. Even though she's still coughing up ash, Abby sarcastically calls Mel a "goody-two boots" and says that she's "smarter" than to leave one of the most powerful pieces of magic in such an obvious location. Then, Abby realizes that 2070 is likely a year, reminding Mel that she was a time witch. Mel agrees that it's a good plan as any to try and solicits Celeste's help.

The two meet Celeste virtually, who offers them magical cocktails and a way for Mel to travel into the future with a watch. Celeste then tells Mel she'll need a timekeeper, "the more emotionless and unfeeling the better" to ensure she leaves the future within 15 minutes, or else she's stuck in the year 2070 forever. Mel looks at a sighing Abby, who retorts, "Better than sitting here and dying." Abby goes with Mel into 2070 where they find not only Mel's mother's grave but her own. Soon, Mel sees an aged Ruby visiting her grave with her granddaughter, saying, "We must never forget the witches who sacrificed, so the rest of us could live."

A stunned Abby tells Mel that she doesn't have to return to the present, to the very day she dies, and could just stay in the year 2070 and "live out the rest of [her] days." However, Mel tells her that she'd rather die than have her sisters sacrifice themselves. Abby replies, "They're lucky to have you." Then, Abby brings "martyr Mel" back to the present.

While The Charmed Ones find a way to save magic -- by all three sisters equally thinking they'd have to die for each other -- it's this selfless sacrifice that brings up feelings of abandonment within Abby. When she returns to full health, she opens the package that Jordan fetched from her sister. The letter inside asks Abby to keep the item but to stay away from her sister and mother. An enraged and saddened Abby smashes all the glass in her apartment and breaks the mysterious statue, unleashing a smoke-like substance that she swallows, turning her eyes a bright orange.
