The Charmed Ones will reunite soon with an estranged family member.

Actor Mareya Salazar will be joining Charmed's third season as  Joséfina, the sisters' second cousin, according to DeadlineSalazar's character is described as a "strong, opinionated young woman who shows up on [The Charmed One's] doorstep with surprises and secrets."

Her character will also be on a "mission" unbeknownst to The Charmed Ones. Salazar will be the second trans actor to join The CW series, following JJ Hawkins (Kevin).

Canadian/Venezuelan actor Salazar's first television role will be on The CW series, having only previously starred in 2019's comedic-drama film Verliefd op Cuba (Cuban Love).

Hawkins' Kevin jump-started his professor Mel's (Melonie Diaz) decision to educate not only herself but her classroom on the challenges of the trans communityCharmed's Mel does eventually face pushback for her decision to alter her class' reading list -- without the Dean's express permission -- but, is ultimately saved by her students.

In Season 3, Episode 7, Mel is saved by her students, who see her decision to push the school's curriculum further -- in regards to how the trans community is portrayed -- as valiant, despite the school's Dean trying to oust Mel from her professorial role.

Charmed stars Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, Rupert Evans, Jordan Donica and Poppy Drayton. New episodes air on The CW on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
