The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity Saga revolved around the Infinity Stones -- six gems that, when gathered together, would bestow godlike power upon their user. Though the intergalactic tyrant Thanos would eventually wield the Stones, former Marvel Studios concept artist Charlie Wen has visualized a different villain harnessing their power.

Wen posted an illustration on Instagram of the Fantastic Four's archenemy Doctor Doom wearing the Infinity Gauntlet. Doom is shown reclining on his throne, holding the Mind Stone in his other hand and contemplating it.

"Didn't spend time redesigning him for the big screen -- just wanted to throw out a fun 'what if'..." Wen wrote, quelling fan hopes that Doom would be appearing in the MCU any time soon.

Wen has posted his work from other Marvel Studios projects on social media, including art for the first Thor film.

Doctor Doom is no stranger to wielding godlike power in Marvel Comics canon. During the original Secret Wars miniseries, he stole the omnipotent Beyonder's power for his own use. He would become a god once more during the 2015 Secret Wars miniseries, fusing together the pieces of destroyed universes into a new Battleworld. He would even wield the power of twin Infinity Gauntlets in Jonathan Hickman's run on Fantastic Four.
