Earlier this month, fans launched the #SaveDaredevil petition in response to Netflix's cancelation of the popular superhero series. The petition has apparently caught the eye of star Charlie Cox, who is telling people to sign it.
Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil on the show, addressed the petition at Ace Comic Con. "I found out the other day there's this petition, #SaveDaredevil," Cox said, according to Comic Book. "You can sign it. Sign it!"
Cox -- who was also taken off guard by the show's cancelation -- isn't the first member of the Daredevil's cast to endorse the petition, which has already received over 170,000 signatures as of this article's writing. Vincent D'Onofrio, who played series antagonist Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, has already voiced his support for the campaign on Twitter.
The cancelation of Daredevil followed those of Iron Fist and Luke Cage. It's expected that The Punisher and Jessica Jones will meet the same fate after their upcoming seasons hit the streaming service. Despite the series' cancelation, Rotten Tomatoes recently named Daredevil the Best Reviewed Superhero Show of 2018.
Now available on Netflix, Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3 stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Joanne Whalley as Sister Maggie, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter, Jay Ali as Rahul “Ray” Nadeem and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
