As part of its Fan Fest, IGN has released an exclusive scene from Chaos Walking. The scene features Todd Hewitt (Tom Holland) being heckled by David Prentiss (Nick Jonas). Todd uses his "Noise" -- the stream of images and sounds that comprise his thoughts -- to create a massive mind-snake which sends Prentiss flying off his horse. Before the two can come to blows, Prentiss' father (Mads Mikkelsen) rides up and compliments Todd on the use of his "Noise."RELATED: Star Wars' Daisy Ridley Was Called 'Intimidating' on the Set of Chaos Walking

Chaos Walking is based on the book series of the same name by Patrick Ness and adapts the first book in the series, titled The Knife of Never Letting Go. Ness was one of several writers who rewrote Charlie Kaufman's original screenplay for the film, as Kaufman had left the film after writing the first draft.

Chaos Walking has had a long and rocky road to its film debut. Originally filmed during 2017, the film underwent several reshoots in 2019 after poor test screenings and executives at Lionsgate deeming it "unreleasable". Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead) helmed the reshoots, which added $15 million to the film's budget and had to accommodate Holland and Daisy Ridley's schedules. Further complicating matters, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic further delayed the film's release date to March.

Directed by Doug Liman, Chaos Walking stars Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, Mads Mikkelsen, Demián Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, Kurt Sutter and David Oyelowo. The film is scheduled to premiere in select theaters on March 5, 2021.
