Chandler Riggs admitted he never heard back from studio executives after he auditioned to play Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Known for his portrayal of Carl Grimes on AMC's The Walking Dead, Riggs was among the young actors who auditioned to play Peter Parker before the role went to Tom Holland.

Speaking at Walker Stalker Con, Riggs confessed, "I didn't even get a call back. I just auditioned for it, and it's fine." At least the 19-year-old isn't bitter about Holland beating him to the role of wall-crawling hero.

Riggs' audition took place in 2015 when other names like Hugo's Asa Butterfield and Boardwalk Empire's Charlie Plummer were also linked to the role in the rebooted franchise. In the end, Holland nabbed the part and made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War.

Riggs was also one of the young stars who auditioned for Solo: A Star Wars Story. The rest is history, with Holland expected to return for Avengers 4 and Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Solo's Alden Ehrenreich signed to a three-movie deal.
