There are awkward elevator rides -- and then there are elevator rides with the two gremlins from Spy x Family and Chainsaw Man.Dangerous found family meets another equally, if not more dangerous, found family in this hilarious crossover fan art featuring Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family. Illustrated by cosie (@/cosiecottage), Loid and Anya take the elevator after grocery shopping. It's rare to see the unflappable Loid looking nervous, but his face glistens with sweat because his Twilight senses warn him that he's in some dangerous company. On the other hand, Anya knows exactly who's beside them and isn't feeling very waku waku about it. Meanwhile, Aki and Power couldn't be any less bothered. Power is clambering all over Aki and is in the middle of trying to chew his head, while it looks like this is a regular everyday occurrence for Aki judging by his expression. The fan art has over 20,000 retweets and over 156,000 likes.RELATED: How Spy x Family Can Improve on Its Biggest Weakness in Season 2

Fan Art by cosie

cosie has drawn a lot of fan art for both series. During the airing of Chainsaw Man's first season, the artist posted "behind-the-scenes" illustrations of an alternate universe where the Chainsaw Man characters were actors. In honor of the final episode, an illustration portrayed the actors giving their last interviews. During the break between Spy x Family's airing of the first and second cour, they drew artwork featuring best friends Anya and Becky and an adorable illustration of the Forgers braiding each other's hair.

Considering how Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family are both serialized in Shonen Jump+, and both series have Shihei Lin as the editor, fans have found numerous creative opportunities to bring the two series together. One fan transformed Anya into Chainsaw Anya in this remake of the Chainsaw Man opening that surprisingly fit despite how different the two are. Another fan created an alternate universe where Anya adopts Pochita instead of Bond. Even the official Spy x Family account confirmed Anya's love for Pochita when it released a commercial of Anya promoting the manga. Poor Bond's heart broke at Anya's declaration of love for Pochita.

Tatsuya Endo's work released its first chapter in March 2019. His story combined adventure, espionage and comedy about a "fake" family with a spy father, assassin mother and telepath child, endeared many readers. Some calls for an anime adaptation began as early as 2021, but it wasn't until April 2022 that a CloverWorks and Wit Studio production aired where it received an overwhelming positive reception. Chainsaw Man, written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, launched just a few months before Spy x Family in December 2018 and received critical acclaim for its storytelling elements and characters. Just like Spy x Family, fans eagerly anticipated an anime adaptation. In October 2022, MAPPA produced the first season of Chainsaw Man, revolving around a poverty-stricken young man named Denji who can change into the titular character after receiving his best friend's heart. Although Denji appears to be single-minded in his desire to date a girl, what he truly craves is a human and emotional connection, which he gets with Aki and Power.

Both manga series are available to read on VIZ Media and Manga Plus. Fans can stream the first seasons of both Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family on Crunchyroll.
