Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of "Shi" #1

Official Press Release

It's been 10 years since Ana Ishikawa first sliced her way into the hearts of comic book fans in the first issue of Shi: The Way of the Warrior. Now, after a decade, the original mini-series returns in individual issue format.

Shi: The Way of the Warrior #1 Tenth Anniversary Edition will be listed in the June 2004 Previews from Diamond Comic Distributors under Crusade Fine Arts in the Comics section.

Plotted, co-written and illustrated by Billy Tucci, co-written by Peter Gutierrez and colored by Barry Orkin, the original award-winning 1994 comic was severely under-printed based on demand and it became an immediate best seller. Fantastically popular with fans during the entire 12-issue run, the Way of the Warrior series established Shi as one of the most successful independent comic titles of the '90s. Since that original comic, Shi has sold more than 4 million copies in six languages.

The original 32 pages of lush color, art and story have been digitally re-mastered and lettered to today's standards, and the issue now includes a never-before-seen selection of early Shi character sketches and features sparkling new cover by Tucci and painter Mark Sparacio (the cover team on the Dark Horse Comics series Shi: Ju-Nen).

"This comic has a lot of great memories for me, and its success is responsible for a lot of wonderful things in my life. It's great to be able to offer it again, both for our original fans who are still with us and for the new fans discovering Shi today," Tucci said.

Shi - The Way of the Warrior #1 Tenth Anniversary Edition will be full color, 32-pages and will carry a cover price of $2.99.
