CCI | Walden Picks Up <i>Rex Libris</i>

Walden Media, the family-oriented production company behind The Chronicles of Narnia, plans to develop a film based on James Turner's sci-fi humor comic Rex Libris, Variety reports.

Debuting in 2005 from SLG Publishing, the series chronicles the adventures of Rex Libris, the head librarian of the Middleton Public Library who is, unbeknown to the public, actually 1,000 years old and served as the original librarian of the Library of Alexandria. With the help of an ancient Egyptian god who lives beneath the library branch, Rex travels to the far reaches of the universe, collecting late fees and battling ignorance.

Rex Libris previously had been in development at Warner Bros., with Mosaic Media producing.
