Brothers & Sisters star Rob Lowe will provide the voice of Captain Marvel in Cartoon Network's upcoming animated series Young Justice, TV Guide reports.

Announced in April, is based on the DC Comics series by Peter David and Todd Nauck. Although we knew from the initial teaser image that the cast will include Superboy, Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Artemis and Aqualad, this is the first time Captain Marvel has been mentioned.

Producer Greg Weisman tells TV Guide that Captain Marvel, whose alter ego is the 10-year-old Billy Batson, will be a recurring character, which means multiple episodes for Lowe. There's no word yet on who will voice Billy.

"This is a show about the lives of the young heroes and their need to prove themselves to their mentors, their families, to each other and most of all to themselves," Weisman says.

Warner Bros. Animation will offer a preview of Young Justice on Friday during its Batman: The Brave and the Bold panel at Comic-Con International.
