CCI 2012 Photo Parade: Wednesday & Thursday

Another year, another Comic-Con International in San Diego in the books, and as is the CBR way, that means it’s time once again for our annual CCI photo parade! Longtime Comic Book Resources readers already know what to expect below, but for those of you joining us for the first time — and if our traffic numbers are any indication, there’s more than a few of you! — here’s how this goes:

CBR founder and head-honcho Jonah Weiland takes a tour of the convention as captured by CBR staff photographer Pinguino Kolb and provides lovingly snarky commentary on the comic book pros, Hollywood celebrities, cosplayers and other CCI mainstays [Editor’s Note: sometimes the comments are even funny!]. We’re kicking things off today with a look at Wednesday’s Preview Night sights as well as the Thursday scene from the convention floor and streets of San Diego. Check back in the days ahead as we’ll reconvene here with Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s photo parades as well!

I wish my suit closet looked like this. If I had a suit closet. Iron Man Suits at the Marvel Booth Cosplay celeb Yaya Hanas as a brilliant Catwoman from “Arhkam City”
I will stomp you. A sweet ride from “Total Recall”
Wendy Pini Bob Burden
Live Snakes at the Indiana Jones booth SNAKES!
Things aren’t just insane inside the con center, here’s a look at the off-site Xbox Lounge. Comic-Con truly takes over downtown San Diego now. Bugatti spaceship from “Elysium” crashes hard into Hard Rock Hotel. See what I did there? See?
Cartoon characters on pedicabs this year. “Revolution” Village – I wonder if they had power.
Bryan Lee O’Malley Andy Lanning
Dan Abnett Peter David – Freeze Frame!

Tokidoki booth Mark Marek and Marly Halpmen-Greese from Mad TV
Sackboy – that costume can not be comfortable at a warm convention. Adrianne Curry
Some Steampunker riding a dinosaur, as Steampunkers are won’t to do? Need Comment (i think shes a hot stormtrooper)

Todd Nauk David Petersen
Pirates vs Ninjas – in case you’re wondering, Ninjas always win. Because they’re Ninjas. Joe Linsner
David Finch Jason T Kruse
Reilly Brown The least enthusiastic cosplayer I’ve ever seen.
I’m told this is Sabrina. Don’t know if that’s her name or the character, but I do very much like! Humberto Ramos
Sexy Phoenix & Sassy Deadpool Philip Tan
James Robinson Jeffrey Brown
Ted Naifeh I guess we give points for trying, but generally no.
Do we really need to be reminded of the Ben Affleck “Daredevil?” The answer is no, so this costumes sucks (althought it’s kinda nice). This dog rules all!
Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson, James Roday James Roday, Maggie Lawson, Dule Hill and Timothy Omundson
Director Chris Henze with “Psych” creator Steve Franks and executive producer Kelly Kulchak Lil’ “Doctor Who” Cosplay
I think cosplay is fun and I enjoy the costumes, but this is how I imagine everyone feels after a day wearing one at a convention. Nice Penguin, Catwoman and Nightwing here.
Thor looks like he’s enjoyed a few too many sammiches. Father/Daughter Batman/Harley Quinn.
Love these guys — don’t know that I’ve ever seen the Cantina band at Comic-Con before. Also, not the lack of Storm Troopers thus far? That’s how we like it. More “Doctor Who” Cosplay and never before did I think I could say “That’s a sexy Police Box.”
Joe Benitez Janet K Lee
Randall and a Honey Badger Don’t Care! Outstanding Deadman costume. Winner of the day!

Mirelly Taylor from “Lost” Peter Mayhew

Damion Poitier (“The Avengers'” Thanos) Madison Leisle (“The Walking Dead”)
Kevin Eastman Gary Daniels
