It doesn't look like the citizens of Chester's Mill will be getting out from their spherical prison any time soon, as Entertainment Weekly reports CBS has renewed Brian K. Vaughan's adaptation of the Stephen King novel Under the Dome. The author will write the Season 2 premiere.

Debuting June 24 as a 13-week summer event, Under the Dome centers on a small town in Maine that's suddenly enclosed within an unseen barrier, cut off from the rest of the world. As the residents panic, one group tries to maintain order while searching for the truth behind the dome and a way to escape it.The series has been averaging 13.84 million viewers, and performing well on DVR and Amazon’s Prime Instant Video.
