CBS Renews Nearly Everything

Buoyed by stellar ratings this season, CBS today announced early renewals for 16 primetime series, which join hit comedies How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory, both already signed to multi-year deals.

The renewed shows are 2 Broke Girls, 48 Hours, 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, Blue Bloods, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Minds, The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-O, The Mentalist, Mike & Molly, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, Survivor and Undercover Boss.

The network has begun preliminary discussions with Warner Bros. Television about the future of Two and a Half Men, while the jury is still out on the comedies Rob and Rules of Engagement, and the dramas A Gifted Man, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY and Unforgettable.

“This large-scale renewal is testimony to the strength, stability and success of a deep and diverse roster of top-rated programming,” Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement. “It positions us for continued success next season and certainly creates an environment that will give our new shows the best possible chance to succeed.”

CBS has been first in viewers this season, averaging 12.1 million each week.
