Fresh off the first official look at Jay Hernandez as the rebooted TV detective, CBS has released the first trailer for their new incarnation of Magnum P.I.

The trailer introduces Hernandez's Magnum and the rest of the cast as the Hawaii-based investigator asks himself, "Why am I here?" It's immediately clear the rebooted Magnum is more revenge-motivated, as the trailer shows Magnum investigating the murder of a friend and working outside of the law. While the character still lacks his signature mustache, the usual red Ferrari figures prominently throughout, with action scenes featuring running, gunfights and high-octane car chases through the tropical island.

While the trailer won't mitigate concerns that the rebooted series is straying far from the classic source material, it seems to position the show more for The Fast and the Furious generation with its slick presentation.
