CBS Cop Show Already In Trouble Before It Airs

New fall CBS drama Blue Bloods is already making headlines... but, sadly, for the drama behind the camera, as star Tom Selleck forces the showrunner out and maybe changes the purpose of the series itself.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that executive producer and showrunner Ken Sanzel will leave the show following disagreements with Selleck over whether the series should be a fast-paced police procedural (Sanzel's view) or more subtle character drama (Selleck's); the network, ultimately, decided that Selleck's participation was more valuable.

No replacement, nor exit date, has been set for Sanzel's departure.
