The role of Rat Man in CBS All Access' adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand has been recast, with Fiona Dourif (The PurgeThe Blacklist) now portraying "Rat Woman."

"I'm playing Rat Man," Dourif told SYFY Wire. "You guys remember Rat Man? Rat Man is now Rat Woman, which is great. I read the book and watched the miniseries. I love The Stand."

Dourif is the daughter of Brad Dourif, who famously voiced Chucky in the Child's Play film franchise. Father and daughter starred together in the straight-to-DVD releases of 2013's Curse of Chucky and 2017's Cult of Chucky.

The Stand is set in a world where 99% of human life is wiped about by a plague and the survivors are in need of a leader. Emerging from the chaos to take leadership are Mother Abigail, a 108-year-old woman who wishes for nothing but peace and community as the figure of good, and Randall Flagg, the "Dark Man" who embodies chaos and violence. The survivors must then choose sides and decide humanity's fate in a struggle between good and evil.

This will not be the first time the property has been adapted for the small screen. A four-part miniseries was released on ABC in 1994, with Mick Garris directing from a screenplay by King.
