After over a year of anticipation, Star Trek: Picard brought Patrick Stewart back to the role that made him an international icon: fan-favorite Starfleet officer Jean-Luc Picard.With the Season 1 finale streaming this week on CBS All Access, Stewart has announced that the premium streaming service will offer a one-month free trial subscription to those that use the code "GIFT" while signing up. Picard follows the titular retired Starfleet admiral, who left his military career behind after the United Federation withdrew its support of Romulan refugees and banned synthetic life following a devastating attack on Mars. After Picard meets a mysterious android woman, he embarks on one last mission across the cosmos that could save the Federation from itself.

The new series marks Stewart's return to the eponymous role for the first time since the 2002 theatrical film Star Trek: Nemesis. Prior to this, Stewart had starred as the character in three feature films and seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, introducing the science fiction franchise to new audiences.
