Black Dynamite star Michael Jai White and director Carl Jones visited with Jonah Weiland in the CBR Tiki Room at New York Comic Con to discuss the Adult Swim animated series' second season, which concludes this Saturday as part of Cartoon Network's late night programming block. They touch on pushing the boundaries of what's acceptable on TV and whether or not White will take Black Dynamite back to the silver screen.

Jones explained about how the creators of the series have competed with themselves to push the second season further for laughs and stories. He also praised the original film's screenwriters for crafting such well-developed characters and making his job slightly easier, allowing him to focus more on putting the characters in fresh new situations. The director and writer also discussed rooting the show in the '70s and being able to pull iconic historical moments and people into their satirical Black Dynamite universe.

White talked about the show's ability to be silly while also making some poignant political references, something he feels makes the show different and exciting. He cited Monty Python was a major influence on how he sees the universe of Black Dynamite, and touched on his plans to continue living in that world as long as he can.
