CBR TV @ CCI 2007: Michael Turner

The comics world was dealt a blow this last Friday evening when we learned that beloved comic creator Michael Turner had passed away at the age of 37 following an eight year battle with cancer. The tributes and memories immediately poured in from Michael's friends, including Aspen Comics EiC Vince Hernandez, Joe Quesada, Dan Didio, Jeph Loeb, Geoff Johns, Marc Silvestri and many more. The loss of Michael is a big one for the comics industry.

Last July, during Comic-Con International in San Diego, CBR invited Michael out to our yacht to film a video interview as part of the CBR Boat Show. That video never made it online (not having anything to do with Michael, we should note), but we pulled the tapes out of the archives and edited it yesterday to show the world what kind of guy Michael is. What you see in the video below is the real Michael Turner. He was never "on," always real and despite the physical challenges he may have encountered the last eight years, he always had a smile on his face.

As a reminder, those wishing to send their condolences to Michael Turner's family are encouraged to send them to:

Aspen MLT, Inc.

Aspen Comics would encourage anyone wishing to make a charitable donation in Michael's name to do so to his requested charities, The American Cancer Society or The Make-A-Wish Foundation

CBR extends it's heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Michael Turner. He will be sorely missed.

We present this video in loving memory of Michael Turner.
