Luc Besson's latest sci-fi epic Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets opens in theaters on July 21, starring Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, and based on the influenteial French comic book series written by Pierre Christin and illustrated by Jean-Claude Mézières. Today, a mobile game based on the film -- but set 590 years before its events -- has gone live on iOS and Google Play, Spil Games' Valerian: City of Alpha.
According to the official description of the game, in Valerian: City of Alpha "players must complete exciting missions, connect with alien species and come up with strategies to help them create the knowledge-sharing metropolis. The ultimate objective is building for themselves the biggest and best version of the City of Alpha."
