Catwoman To Star In Animated Short Added To Batman: Year One

Catwoman will headline her own short film attached to Warner Bros’ Animation upcoming direct-to-DVD adaptation of the influential Batman: Year One, TV Guide reveals. The website also offers a first look at the character — albeit small and severely cropped.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Eliza Dushku, who provides the voice of Selina Kyle in Batman: Year One, will reprise the role in the short, which pits Catwoman against crime boss Rough Cut (voiced by Futurama‘s John DiMaggio) “in a breathless and brutal 15-minute chase through Gotham City tracking down a mysterious cargo shipment.” Catwoman was written by Paul Dini and helmed by Year One co-director Lauren Montgomery.

Based on the acclaimed 1987 storyline by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, Batman: Year One also stars Ben McKenzie (The O.C., Southland) as a young Bruce Wayne, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as James Gordon, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as Sarah Essen, and Alex Rocco (The Godfather) as Carmine Falcone.

The latest entry in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series will be released on Oct. 18 for DVD, Blu-ray, On Demand and digital download.
