WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for "Helena," a short story featured in Catwoman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Spectacular by Tom King, Mikel Janín, Jordie Bellaire and Clayton Cowles, available now.

Months ago, DC revealed that the upcoming Batman/Catwoman maxiseries would see Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle tale their relationship to the next level. The two superheroes recently entered into a committed relationship, and now, it's time for them to start a family.

Before their upcoming series begins, Selina Kyle became pregnant, and the two became parents in the Catwoman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Spectacular special. In the anniversary issue, a short story by Tom King and Mikel Janín shows how Selina learns she is pregnant -- and it doesn't stop there. It goes on to confirm that she and Bruce are having a daughter named Helena.

That means that Helena Wayne is officially coming back in the DC Universe.

Batman Catwoman Pregnant

Originally, Helena Wayne hails from a parallel reality and is well known to longtime DC fans. On Earth-2, she is the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, and she operates as the Huntress. However, it's worth pointing out that she is not to be confused with the Helena Bertinelli version of Huntress, who resides on DC's Prime Earth. Helena Wayne debuted in 1977's All-Star Comics #69, by Paul Levitz and Joe Staton, and appeared in such stories as Crisis on Infinite Earths. During the New 52, which was a rebooted and streamlined continuity of the DC Universe, a new version of Helena even visited the Prime Earth, where she briefly suited up as the Huntress and used the Helena Bertinelli name to hide her real identity.

Despite her appearances and popularity, this character was still just an alternate universe version of Batman and Catwoman's daughter. However, Helena Wayne has officially and properly joined the fabric of the Prime Earth's apparent future, as the Catwoman 80th Anniversary special confirms.

In Tom King and Mikel Janín's short story, Selina Kyle first learns she is pregnant, but the story doesn't stop there. We then see her react with the news and continue to fight side-by-side with Batman as her body contines to change. In fact, the eight-page short story covers the entire span of Selina's pregnancy, and we see her hold her little baby girl nine months later while Batman is away on a mission.

Future Catwoman Helena Wayne

However, it's only on the last page that the real surprise comes. Here, we are taken years ahead in the future, where Selina is an old woman and her daughter is a fully-grown adult. Selina never uses her daughter's name, but it's the short story's title, which appears on the last panel, that makes the reveal: "Helena."

Therefore, with the Catwoman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Spectacular, DC has confirmed that Batman and Catwoman will have a girl named Helena. For the time being, there's no telling if she will truly grow up to become Huntress, or if we will ever see her grow up into adulthood at all. Ever since news broke that Bruce and Selina were going to have a baby, fans theorized that she would be Helena Wayne. And now, the theory has just been confirmed.

In all likelihood, the threads of this story will be further explored in Tom King and Clay Mann's upcoming Batman/Catwoman series. And who knows, perhaps Helena Wayne even end up fulfilling one of Doomsday Clock's predictions.
