Less than a month after its Season 3 premiere, Netflix has officially renewed its original animated series Castlevania for a fourth season.

Series creator, writer and executive producer Warren Ellis confirmed the renewal news on Twitter, showing a cheeky image from the third season as he made the announcement. However, no additional details have been released regarding Castlevania Season 4 at this time.

Season 3 spent much of its time separating previously introduced main characters as the world acclimated to the absence of Dracula. As coven of vampires led by the villainous Carmilla plotted to subjugate humanity from their faraway fortress, Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades found themselves confronting a sinister cult of alchemists in a small village.

Originally envisioned as a trilogy of animated films adapting the popular video game franchise's 1989 installment Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, the adaptation was picked up by Netflix and developed into a full animated series. While details regarding the show's future are still under wraps, Ellis and series showrunner Kevin Kolde have hinted at possible directions they would like to take the series next in an exclusive interview with CBR.
