Less than a week since the premiere of its second season and Netflix's animated adaptation of Castlevania has been officially renewed for a third season.
The premium streaming service has ordered ten episodes for Season 3, an increase from Season 2's eight episodes and Season 1's four.
An adaptation of the popular video game franchise of the same name, the most recent season saw vampire hunter Trevor Belmont, along with allies Alucard and Sypha Belnades, teaming up to stop Dracula's reign of terror over Transylvania.
The second season greatly expanded the series' scope and action drawing heavy inspiration from 1989's Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and its 2005 direct sequel Castlevania: Curse of Darkness with nods to the entire classic franchise. A premiere date for the third season is not included in the renewal announcement but it is expected to be released sometime next year with most of the principal voice cast returning.
Castlevania Season 2 on Netflix stars Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont, Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades, James Callis as Alucard, and Graham McTavish as Dracula. Adi Shankar returns as showrunner with the adaptation written by Warren Ellis.
