Netflix's animated adaptation of Castlevania clearly borrows from the Japanese animation style, but it also steals a few tropes that have become common of the anime genre since shows like Dragon Ball and One Piece were put to screen. One of these tropes is the existence of over-powered characters who demonstrate an affinity for magical powers.

Castlevania gives multiple characters the chance to fill this role, but the most recognizable of the bunch has to be Sypha Belnades. The Speaker magician uses her skills to manipulate fire, ice, and lightning in ways that will satisfy any anime fan. Her skills are so impressive that it is not beyond reason to put Sypha in contention with the strongest anime heroes.

10 Lelouch (Code Geass) Beats Sypha With His Geasse

Lelouch from Code Geass

One of the most popular anime heroes in the mid-2000's would be a difficult match for Sypha. Though the speaker magician has more experience in battle and may even outmatch Lelouch punch for punch, the deciding factor of this battle would be Lelouch's geasse.

The ability to speak a command that is impossible to resist is a dangerous power to possess. Unless Sypha completely avoided eye contact with Lelouch, he would decide the victor of this battle.

9 Sypha Beats Tanjiro (Demon Slayer) With Her Magical Abilities

Tanjiro is one of the newest additions to the anime canon. His position as Demon Slayer's protagonist has pushed him into the same limelight that anime staples like Goku and Luffy have stood under for years. This does not mean he matches either of these characters' power levels though.

Tanjiro is a master swordsman who has pushed his human body to its limit, but he still struggles when dealing with demons who possess magical abilities. With this in mind it is difficult to give Tanjiro the win over Sypha, who has mastered her magical abilities in the same way that Tanjiro has mastered the sword.

8 Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail) Beats Sypha With His Dragon Slayer Magic

The protagonist of Fairy Tale is a fellow mage, and although Sypha is an incredible magician whose action scenes will put a smile on any anime fan's face, Natsu has demonstrated abilities that make each of Sypha's skills look like parlor tricks.

The young mage is able to create incredibly powerful flames that enhance his already impressive physical capabilities. Sypha's one advantage is her ability to form ice constructs with varying degrees of lethality. Luckily Natsu's Dragon Slayer Magic would turn her ice to steam in seconds.

7 Sypha Beats Eren Yeager (Attack On Titan) With Her Lethal Ice Constructs

Trevor And Sypha Castlevania

If Sypha has proven anything in the three seasons of Castlevania that she has co-starred in, it is that there is no monster that she cannot overcome. Even the great Dracula fell to the might of the speaker magician. Admittedly, Sypha did have help defeating the king of vampires, but Yeager is no Vlad Tepes Dracula.

Though Yeager has impressive regenerative abilities as both a titan and a human, Sypha's mastery of ice constructs would make it difficult for Yeager to do anything but regenerate limbs during their battle.

6 Goku (Dragon Ball) Beats Sypha In Every Category: Strength, Speed, Raw Power, Etc.

Sypha's magic is impressive. The final episode of Castlevania season 3 utilizes her magic abilities to create an anime battle that will have viewers smiling like they were after Goku rode a Kamehameha in the tournament of power.

If Goku's display in the tournament wasn't enough to explain why he would destroy Sypha in this matchup than nothing will ever be. The Saiyan proved that even when matched up against characters with god like power he is still fast enough, strong enough, and capable enough to walk away victorious.

5 Sypha Beats Yugi (Yu-Gi-Oh!) By Carving Up His Summoned Monsters

Castlevania's Trevor Belmont, Alucard, and Sypha Belnades

Yugi may be the best monster duelist, but Sypha may be the best monster slayer. Her skills perfectly suit her for a duel with the spiky haired young man. Truthfully, it would be unfair for Yugi to summon an army of monsters when confronted by Sypha, but the speaker magician would surely still hold her own regardless.

In a direct battle between Yugi and Sypha, the duelist would have no chance. If Sypha can hold her own against Yugi strengths as a duelist, and decimate him in a one-on-one battle, she deserves the edge in this matchup.

4 Naruto Beats Sypha By Closing The Distance And Taking Advantage Of His Close Combat Skills

Naruto vs Sasuke

Sypha's greatest strength in battle is her ability to keep her foes at a range where she can apply lethal pressure and they cannot. Her mastery of ice constructs and the ability to quickly hurl flames at her opponents is impressive, but it is nothing when compared to the tricks Naruto has up his sleeve.

The Hokage has demonstrated on multiple occasions that he is privy to a number of stealth techniques that can help him close the distance between himself and his opponents. Once he is close, Sypha doesn't stand a chance.

3 Sypha Beats Luffy (One Piece) With Slashing Attacks Or By Flooding The Battlefield

Sypha's Ice Constructs _ Castlevania

Though Luffy seems to be impervious to injury, he does have a weakness. Even casual fans of One Piece know that Luffy cannot swim, and die hard fans know that the rubber man is weak to slashing attacks as well.

Though his body can withstand any blunt force attack, a sword can still harm the boy if sharpened to a fine enough point. Sypha has proven that her ice constructs can cut through human flesh with ease. If hurling blades of ice at Luffy failed to take advantage of his lesser known weakness, Sypha could always let the ice melt and defeat him via drowning. Either way, Sypha wins this one.

2 Deku (My Hero Academia) Beats Sypha With His Brain & His Overpowered Quirk

deku green lightning

Before Deku inherits the One For All quirk from All Might, he is already one of the most strategically gifted students in the My Hero Academia franchise. The young hero in training knows better than anyone but Sypha how dangerous her control of ice, fire, and lightning can be.

With this knowledge in mind, Deku could certainly come up with a way to defeat the speaker magician with the strength granted to him by the One For All quirk.

1 Sypha Beats Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) Because Alchemy Is Nothing New To A Speaker Magician

Castlevania Season 3

Edward Elric's mastery of alchemy would be difficult for Sypha, but Saint Germain is proof of the existence of alchemy in the world of Castlevania. Surely the speaker magician has thought of the strategies she would need to overcome a master alchemist.

The world of Full Metal Alchemist is built differently than Castlevania, but that doesn't mean that Elric's alchemy is any more capable of defeating Sypha than Saint Germain's. The ability to alter his body is certainly impressive, but Sypha's magic would overpower the young man before he could transform his metal arm into the type of ranged weapon that would be able to threaten her.
