As Star Wars continues to expand on Disney+, the first wave of casting descriptions for the planned Cassian Andor miniseries has surfaced online.
Character breakdowns for two children have been revealed, with one child appearing at two different ages over the course of the series. The casting descriptions list the children's names as Mundo and Cinta, though this is likely subject to change to keep their identities a secret ahead of the start of principal photography. The character breakdowns are below:
Mundo is a thirteen-year old, Hispanic male. The young teen has a head full of brown hair and big, passionate eyes. Needs to have a wide range from still calm to uncontrolled anger.
Mundo is a nine-year old, Hispanic male. A wild and unruly kid with a head full of brown hair and big, passionate eyes. Also needs to have a wide range from still calm to uncontrolled anger.
Cinta is 5-7 year old Hispanic female. Cinta has a head full of brown hair and big eyes. A wild and unruly kid who, what do you know, needs to have a wide range from still calm to uncontrolled anger.
With the miniseries expected to be a prequel to Cassian's appearance in Rogue One, the character descriptions for Mundo appear to suggest he may be a young Cassian, seen at two different points of his childhood. Cinta may be a younger sister or family friend who meets a tragic fate, informing Cassian's lifelong crusade against the Galactic Empire and culminating in joining the Rebel Alliance with the reprogrammed Imperial security droid K-2O.
Principal photography on the series is expected to begin this June and last through the rest of 2020 for its eventual premiere on Disney+ the following year.
Star Wars: Cassian Andor stars Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk. It is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2021.
