Alex Proyas' adaptation of John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost is demanding more of my attention with each passing second. I was originally wary of the planned CG-fueled blockbuster spectacle, but the cast that's assembled so far, along with the innate talents Proyas possesses as a filmmaker (Dark City FTW), seals it.
Casey Affleck should be joining the party, too, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor is in negotiations to take the role of Gabriel, the six-winged angel and messenger of God. He'll play a key role in the film, working with Michael (Ben Walker) to bring down Lucifer (Bradley Cooper). Affleck will join a gang of noteworthy names that includes Djimon Hounsou as well as Cooper and Walker. Production is expected to begin at the start of next year, so expect more Paradise Lost casting news in the coming months.
