The release date for the highly anticipated return of The Case Study of Vanitas has finally been confirmed.According to the anime's official Twitter account, Part 2 of the hit vampire series will debut in Japan on Jan. 14, 2022. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the continuation of the series ever since the first half of the series concluded in September. Based on the manga series of the same name by Jun Mochizuki, The Case Study of Vanitas is set in 19th century Paris and incorporates elements of steampunk and dark fantasy aesthetics. The story follows Noé Archiviste, a vampire, and Vanitas, a human doctor, as they work together to heal corrupted vampires of the malnomen, a curse that causes vampires to become predatory against their will.

The anime adaptation is produced by animation studio Bones (My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission, Godzilla Singular Point) with Tomoyuki Itamura (Owarimonogatari, Tsukimonogatari) serving as its director. The series is written by Deko Akao (Komi Can't Communicate, Pokémon Journeys: The Series) and the music is composed by Yuki Kajiura (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Fena: Pirate Princess).

The cast for The Case Study of Vanitas features several popular and experienced voice actors, including Natsuki Hanae (Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Smile Down the Runway) as Vanitas, Kaito Ishikawa (The Rising of the Shield Hero, Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) as Noe, Inori Minase (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X) as Jeanne and Shino Shimoji (The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat) as Lucius "Luca" Oriflamme. In Part 2, they will be joined by Rie Kugimiya (DARLING in the FRANXX, The Misfit of Demon King Academy), whose character Chloe was teased during Part 1's finale.

Part 2 of The Case Study of Vanitas isn't the only series scheduled to premiere during the upcoming winter anime season. Other titles that will be releasing new seasons include Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Teasing Master Takagi-san. Several new series will be making their debut as well, including Tokyo 24th Ward, Police in a Pod, Orient and She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wiseman.
