In the footage, we get our first look at some of the “next generation” racers that Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) will have to race against. All of the cars are teased as being better, faster and stronger, and judging by the trailer, have more technological advancements than McQueen does.

Of course, there's also slow-motion footage of McQueen's wreck that shocked everyone in the debut trailer. The synopsis reveals the crash will be a focal point of the sequel, with McQueen trying to recover after his horrific accident.

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves…To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn't through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing's biggest stage!

Directed by Brian Fee from a script by Robert L. Baird and Daniel Gerson, "Cars 3" features the voice talents of Owen Wilson, Cristela Alonzo, Armie Hammer, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt, Cheech Marin, Michael Walls and Paul Dooley. The film arrives in theaters on June 16.
