His Instagram post features two portraits of himself with Fisher, one taken around the time of 1977's Star Wars and the other during production of The Last Jedi, along with an illustration of the late actress as the Virgin Mary, holding her dog Gary in one hand and flipping off the viewer with the other.

Fisher passed away Dec. 27, 2016, at age 60, a week after she suffered a massive heart attack on an 11-hour flight from London to Los Angeles. Her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, died Dec. 28. They were buried together at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, with Fisher's ashes placed in a large porcelain urn designed to resemble a Prozac pill, an antique from the 1950s that her brother Todd Fisher called one of her "prized possessions."

An acclaimed writer, humorist and script doctor, Fisher reprised her iconic role as Leia Organa in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She had completed filming the sequel, director Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi, by the time of her death, and no changes were made to reflect Fisher's passing. It's unknown how Episode IX, set for release in 2019, will address her loss.
