The following contains major spoilers for Carnage #4, available July 6 from Marvel.

Carnage is going full Gorr the God Butcher as he begins hunting deities across the Marvel Universe in a preview for Carnage #4.

Carnage #4 comes from writer Ram V, artist Francesco Manna, color artist Dijjo Lima and letterer VC's Joe Sabino. Carnage -- who has parted ways with Cletus Kasady and is currently host-less -- is taking serial killer Kenneth Neeley on a journey to murder a number of high-profile superpowered targets. After having previously killed Hydro-Man, Carnage #3 saw the ultra-dangerous symbiote defeat Spot before entering into a portal with Kenneth taking the two of them across space.

In a preview for Carnage #4 provided by Marvel, Carnage and Kenneth arrive in Svartalfheim, the home of the Dark Elves. The two aren't merely sight-seeing on this journey; rather, Carnage tells Kenneth they're here for strictly one purpose -- "to kill gods." Carnage has also mentioned a plan to kill gods in Carnage #3. "Do you know how it feels to hold the power of a God in your hand and then watch someone you hate take it for their own?" he narrated, referencing when Venom previously became the King in Black. "So Cletus began to think of a plan. A way to elevate ourselves. If we could not be God...then we would be the thing that kills gods. We would be...Carnage."

The Carnage #4 preview doesn't reveal whether or not Carnage actually murders any Marvel deities, though it does end with Carnage telling Kenneth, "It's time to go **** up some elves." The motivation behind Carnage's action bears resemblance to Gorr the God Butcher, a Thor villain created by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic who first appeared in 2013's Thor: God of Thunder #2. Growing up with a hatred for gods after they refused to save him from miserable circumstances during childhood, Gorr vowed to get revenge by killing any and all deities he could when reaching adulthood. The character will be portrayed by Christian Bale in Marvel's upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, which releases July 8.
