We have our first look at Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady/Carnage in Sony's Venom 2 thanks to star Tom Hardy.

Hardy posted the image of Harrelson wearing a Hawaiian shirt with a black jacket on Instagram along with the caption, "Hello Cletus." It's unclear what Cletus Kasady is up to in the photo, but the the shirt's red color scheme is obviously meant to evoke the film's unhinged symbiote.

Though Hardy has since deleted his post, the image can be seen here.

In 2018's Venom, Harrelson's Carnage only appeared as a cameo at the end of the film. The character will reportedly play a much bigger role in the sequel, with Tom Hardy previously teasing Venom and Carnage going toe-to-toe.

Not much has been released about the plot of Venom 2, but recent reports suggest the film will introduce the The Ravencroft Institute, which has recently gained more prominence in the comics with Absolute Carnage and the Ruins of Ravencroft one-shots. Carnage originally bonded with Cletus Kasady at Ryker's Island penitentiary.

Created by David Michelinie and Erik Larsen, Carnage made his first Marvel Comics appearance in 1991's The Amazing Spider-Man #344. While fans have been anxiously waiting for a live-action version of the red symbiote, the character has appeared in multiple animated series, including Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Spider-Man Unlimited and The Spectacular Spider-Man.
