WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Carmen Sandiego Season 3, now streaming on Netflix.

Netflix's Carmen Sandiego has given the scarlet-coated thief a huge advantage with Finn Wolfhard's Player as her hacker extraordinaire in its first two seasons. He acted as her handler, helping set traps for VILE while keeping ACME  off her back.

Thanks to his skill, Carmen, Ivy, Zack and Shadowsan had an easier job stealing from VILE's strongholds and giving back to charity. With every episode, it's highly apparent how integral he is to the team; however, in Season 3, VILE flips the script a bit and gets its own evil version of Player called the Troll.

Taking his name from internet trolls that annoy people online, the Troll first appears in "The Haunted Bayou Caper," and he immediately shows he's Player's equivalent. His job is to get Maelstrom's sinister faculty the thermal and satellite imagery of a mansion that belongs to a famous chef known as The Crawfish King. There's a charity costume party being held, and his schematics are needed by Tigress and Paper Star so they can navigate the secret corridors and steal the prize.

He's proficient in encryption, hacking and data collection, and it pays dividends for VILE as he sends details over for the Cleaners so they could steal all the money from the King's charity. Of course, the Cleaners mess up, but VILE can tell this is a brilliant first test, which is why the genius Roundabout is the next villain to work with the Troll.

They team up in the finale, "The Jolly Good Show Caper," to trap Carmen Sandiego with a fake Crown Jewels heist. He hacks Player's computer and sets off the alarm right when Carmen's about to steal the treasure. This leads to her getting captured. When Roundabout, head of the British Secret Service, strolls in to survey the scene, the Troll switches off alarms, overrides the security cameras and puts the feed on loop to make Roundabout invisible. This allows him to switch St. Edward's crown, so no one would be none the wiser.

However, Carmen anticipated all this. Player manages to hack the Troll and send the footage to Interpol, so he gets the last laugh as Roundabout's arrested. However, it's clear the Troll hasn't unleashed his full potential, and seeing as no one knows who he really is or where he's based, he's sure to have more tricks up his sleeve. Even Zack called him "an evil Player," and with Roundabout escaping to be with VILE full-time, fans can see them partnering more frequently to stop Team Carmen and seek revenge.

Starring Gina Rodriguez and Finn Wolfhard, all three seasons of Carmen Sandiego are available to stream on Netflix now.
