Carlton Cuse is returning to the island of Lost, at least as far as casting goes.

The executive producer best known for Lost, Bates Motel and The Strain, is behind A&E's upcoming series The Returned, an adaptation of the French supernatural drama of the same name. The series takes place in a small town where several locals, previously presumed dead, suddenly return, with varying consequences.

Cuse has tapped a Lost veteran for one of the lead roles: Mark Pellegrino, who played the enigmatic island's equally mysterious protector, Jacob. He'll play Jack (another Lost parallel), described by Deadline as the rugged "father of twin girls, the 20-year-old Lena, and Camille, who died in a school bus crash four years ago at the age of 16 and is now coming back."
