Thanks to Daidōji Tomoyo's incredible sewing skills, Sakura was able to accomplish her duty as Cardcaptor in style while we, in the real world, got some pretty awesome cosplay ideas!
But Sakura's costumes aren't the only outfits that deserve some recognition. In fact, her daily outfits have proven themselves to be pretty darn great and she's seen in casual clothes just as often as in her extravagant costumes. One can't help but admire her precise sense of style, which, if we're been honest, is 100% better than the stuff we wore back when this series started airing on TV. Thankfully, it's not too late for us to get inspired by her style or downright steal some of her outfits!
10 First Appearance
Starting off this list strong with a very special outfit as it is the one Sakura was wearing when she discovered the Book of Clow and accidentally released the Clow Cards into the world in the very first episode. Everything about this outfit is worth stealing for ourselves, from the red romper to the beige turtleneck.
Why not even steal that wing brooch while we're at it? Let's not forget that she is nine years old when the series start and her sense of style is seriously impeccable!
9 Paperbag Pants & Turtlenecks
As many other anime that aired in the '90s and early 2000s, the creators of Cardcaptor Sakura reused a few of her outfits with a slight color difference. As much as we love to see our favorite characters in brand new outfits, it's hard to be mad at the creators for reusing designs, particularly when said designs happen to be pretty cool.
A lot of Sakura's tops have a high collar so it's not surprising that this next outfit includes a staple in her wardrobe: turtlenecks. Paring with those turtlenecks are some awesome, high-waisted, brown paper bag pants and a belt that makes this outfit even an adult could wear!
8 Orange Popsicle
The return of Cardcaptor Sakura to the screens in 2017 blessed us with not only a whole new story but also a bunch of new outfits to get inspired by that are just as amazing as the ones Sakura wore in the original series.
Although Sakura's clothing style was already amazing, her growing up and now being a teenager, resulted in a slight fashion style change to make her appear a bit more grown-up and intricate. This orange short-sleeved shirt has some amazing lace detailing and would be a great addition to our summer wardrobe!
7 Little pink dress
Pink is one of those colors that one either loves or hates and it sure is one that isn't easy to wear. Lucky for us, we can count on Sakura to find the perfect way to make a little pink dress a wardrobe staple!
We love the sneaky collar peeking from underneath her button-down dress and this light brown blazer is just to die for. Adding a blazer to her outfit gave it a whole new dimension making this whole outfit look a lot more grown-up. A blazer changes everything, lesson learned.
6 It's All About The Details
This next outfit reminds us a little of the pink dress and blazer from earlier, and yet, it's completely different. The pink pinafore dress gives a very light, and sweet vibe which is very fitting for a girl that young, but, as per usual, Sakura knows how to make her outfits look more grown-up by layering her dresses with the right shirt.
The yellow details on the cuffs and the collar make this shirt truly unique and we could see it working well with just a simple pair of jeans too!
5 The Autumn Bunny
Ok, the bunny hat may not be everybody's cup of tea. Yes, it could be hard to pull off in your daily life but a bunny hat is just one of those things that everyone should own. It's cute, probably super warm and it would not only make you smile but also bring a bit of joy to everyone crossing your path. Win-win.
Sakura's big, mustard yellow turtleneck is also the perfect sweater to wear in the fall when the weather gets colder and everyone goes crazy over warm tones clothes and we love the puffy pair of shorts too!
4 An Artist Lookbook
There isn't one thing about this outfit that we wouldn't want for ourselves, and it definitely one of Sakura's best outfits.
This white button-down shirt is both very simple and very elegant. The folded details on the front panels give the shirt some texture and add a little complexity to the look while the burgundy culottes bring some color. Talking about those pants, how amazing are they? Let's not forget the boots that bring this whole outfit together by adding a little adventurer's vibe to this otherwise very polished look.
3 Colors Of The Rainbow
Anime characters have a thing for wearing big sweaters with shorts or skirts but no tights underneath as if legs just couldn't get cold. However strange that may seem, it's undeniable that this strange practice gave way to some pretty great outfits that we can't help but want to recreate in real life, like the one above.
Sakura often wears babby shorts which both sound a lot more comfortable than those super-tight denim shorts and looks super cute. A simple white pair of shorts with this bright yellow and rainbow detailings sweater makes the perfect outfit to chill in!
2 How To Wear A Shirt-Dress
Here's another pretty simple and easy to pull outfit that we can't help but love. Shirt-dresses are highly underrated and they deserve a bit more love, if only because they make getting dressed a piece of cake. Throwing a loose shirt-dress over a pair of shorts is super easy and can only look good, as Sakura proved in the above picture.
Creating a great outfit is as simple as choosing which accessories to add on, and Sakura sure knows that matching her head to her dress is the perfect way to tie-up this outfit!
1 We Love Earth Tones
To finish off this list, let's give some love to Sakura's absolute best outfit. Every single piece of this outfit are amazing and work so well together it feels like they were just made for this specific outfit.
Those brown balloon pants are a dream, particularly paired with those high boots! It can be hard to know how to wear vests without giving off to much of a grandpa or Hobbit vibe, but this particular vest is just perfect and should definitely have a real-life equivalent! It looks particularly great on top of a simple white button-down tucked into those brown pants. Seriously, how can a teenager have such a great sense of style?
