Following the first official look last month at "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets," MTV takes us behind the scenes of Luc Besson's upcoming sci-fi epic in this new video. The footage also provides a look at Rihanna in costume and on set, but the stars remain quiet about her role.

"She's phenomenal, it's going to be really great," assures Cara Delevingne, who won't even reveal whether she shares any scenes with the singer.

Based on the influential French sci-fi comic "Valerian and Laureline," the film stars Dane DeHaan and Delevigne as government operatives tasked with maintaining order throughout the universe. Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha's 17 million inhabitants have converged over time-uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

Also starring Ethan Hawke, John Goodman, Herbie Hancock and Kris Wu, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" opens July 21, 2017.
