After making a point to conceal the aliens in its first teaser trailer, the second teaser for Rupert Wyatt's Captive State has been officially released, and it gives a clearer look at exactly what humans will be dealing with when the movie premieres next year.
The trailer begins in an almost identical fashion to the first teaser, emulating a sort of political campaign put on by the forces that conquered Earth almost a decade prior to the film's events. This new trailer also gives us our first clear look at one of the alien ships as it hovers near an approaching crowd. This could be the ship that was teased at the end of the first trailer as a shadow making its way over a football field.
Humans siding with the extraterrestrials also takes center stage in this trailer, and it looks like the Chicago-based resistance will have its hands full. Towards the end of the trailer, a voiceover repeats, "the Phoenix will rise." It's not clear at this time what the slogan, which is being repeated by one of the rebels, means. However, a mysterious logo appears before the trailer shows off one of the film's alien creatures.
Captive State also stars John Goodman, Vera Farmiga, Ashton Sanders, Jonathan Majors, Alan Ruck, Kevin Dunn, Machine Gun Kelly and Colson Baker. It is set to arrive in theaters on March 29, 2019.
