Nearly five months after Nick Fury sent that distress call in the surprising post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War, Brie Larson's Carol Danvers has arrived in the highly anticipated teaser trailer for Captain Marvel.

Fans have lobbied for months for the release of the first footage from the film, and this teaser is unlikely to disappoint, beginning with Carol's arrival on Earth, crashing through the roof of a Blockbuster store. Can there be any doubt of the film's 1990s setting?

Opening with a voiceover by Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, the footage introduces Carol in a green Starforce uniform -- the source of so much hand-wringing by fans months ago -- as a stranger in a strange land, experiencing flashes of her earlier life on Earth. But we're also treated to glimpses of her time in space, alongside the Kree in action, and punching a old lady -- a Skrull, we hope -- on a train. Plus, hey, Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson ... with hair.
