WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Captain Marvel #13 by Kelly Thompson, Lee Garbett, Tamra Bonvillain and Clayton Cowles, in stores now.

Captain Marvel's latest storyline, "The Last Avenger," has pit Carol Danvers against the Avengers. A new Kree villain known as Vox Supreme has outfitted Carol with a new suit that monitors her actions, and he has tasked her with killing Earth's Mightiest Heroes. If she doesn't follow through on her mission, Vox will kill hundreds of Kree refugees currently located on Earth.

With no time to spare or find an alternative, Carol does what she's told and rushes into battle against Marvel's biggest superheroes. After she took down Thor in a battle that spanned half the globe, Carol urns her attention to Tony Stark in Captain Marvel #13. And in this fight, Carol ends up using a line familiar to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Captain Marvel Iron Man fight

Captain Marvel is a brilliant and efficient military officer, which means she knows how to plan accordingly. She's also well-acquainted wher how her fellow Avengers think and fight, so she knows how to tactically approach them in battle with maximum efficiency. ust like she did with Thor, Carol takes Tony Stark by surprise in the middle of his home, while he's unsuspecting and comfortable. However, it doesn't take long for him to armor up before the battle turns into a real super-powered brawl.

In her narration, Carol explains exactly what she's doing and how she plans to defeat the Armored Avenger. While Iron Man is hesitant to fight his fellow Avenger at first, it doesn't take long for him to unleash his full power on Captain Marvel. Once Tony finally attacks, the energy blast actually gives Carol a power boost. "I'm not worried about this," she says in the narration. "Because this? This is easy. I can do this all day."

The line may sound familiar to MCU fans, because it's one that has become a motto of sorts for Steve Rogers, who refuses to quit= or surrender. He first spoke those words in Captain America: The First Avenger, and the phrase would come back in Captain America: Civil War. What's more, the line is so connected with the character that it was even used to poke fun at the star-spangled Avenger when he faced off against a version of himself in Avengers: Endgame.

And what's perhaps even more noteworthy is that Carol uses that line in a fight against Iron Man. In his battle against Iron Man, Steve also said the exact same thing to Tony Stark in Civil War, near the end of their climactic fight, which gives Carol's use of the line some added resonance.

With both Thor and Iron Man defeated, it might not bee long before Captain Marvel finds herself duking it out with Steve Rogers. There's no telling who can win that fight, since both Avengers are ready to fight all day.
