There are several theories out there that Scarlet Witch may be one of the next big villains in the Marvel Universe which makes a match-up between her and Captain Marvel not too far-fetched. Both are incredibly powerful and both harness some of the same abilities.
However, with similar abilities come parallel weaknesses. Captain Marvel is a loud and proud female leader with confidence bursting out the seams. Scarlet Witch's main weakness is that she's unsure of her power. Likewise, Scarlet Witch's main ability revolves around the usage of magic which is a major Kryptonite for Captain Marvel. This all makes for a fantastic battle.
10 Captain Marvel: Master Of Flight
Although Scarlet Witch can levitate, one of Captain Marvel's main powers is that she can fly between Universe's. This is would be a huge advantage against the sorceress because she could literally fly circles around her.
Along with this, what separates Captain Marvel's flight from that of Superman's is that it's energy charged. When she flies, it's through forces of energy that make her nearly impossible to stop.
9 Scarlet Witch: Master In Magic And Magical Energy
Scarlet Witch's main ability is to conjure magic and harness magical energy. This is Captain Marvel's main weakness so this plays a huge role in any possible battle between the two heroes. By attacking her weakness, Scarlet Witch could potentially beat Captain Marvel.
However, her magic is driven by emotion and most of the time Scarlet Witch is shy and won't conjure her dark powers. This could be quite a dilemma if this battle ever ensued.
8 Captain Marvel: She's A God
She's not considered to be as immortal as a celestial being, but she is able to control God-like abilities. She can control energy and all of her senses which is the exact opposite of Scarlet Witch who on the other end of the coin can't control herself at times.
The famous Spider-Man quote is "with great power comes great responsibility" which fits perfectly here. Captain Marvel knows she's powerful, but doesn't use her powers to her full advantage at times because she knows it would cause chaos.
7 Scarlet Witch: Slightly More Evil
Scarlet Witch is fueled by rage and acts out on rambunctious emotions. Quick to react can be dangerous especially when the result is much more than a punch, but rather through the usage of dark magic.
Due to this, her powers know no bounds because at times she can get out of control. This could be seen as a weakness and a strength especially when facing up against Captain Marvel.
6 Captain Marvel: Space Warrior
Captain Marvel can breathe and fly through Space. She's the only Avenger who has the ability to be able to fully control herself in empty matter (Thor can breathe in Space, but can't control his movements.)
In a battle against the red sorceress, Captain Marvel would use her Space abilities to her advantage (and would possibly even flee if it got too out of hand.)
5 Scarlet Witch: Time Control
iIn regards to Scarlet Witch's evil side, nothing conveys it better than this comic image here. She has control over the masses and has uncontrollable rage within her. One of her many abilities is that she can actually control time and time travel.
Like with the rest of her several abilities, Scarlet Witch has not been able to control this power for her benefit. However, since she is so deeply enraged by her past, it may come out during a fight against a likewise powerful being.
4 Captain Marvel: Confidence When She Fights
Coinciding with Captain Marvel's magic weakness, Scarlet Witch's main weakness is her own confidence. She doesn't trust herself or her powers and doesn't know how to use them to her advantage. There's such lack of control that she might even kill herself by accident in a battle against Captain Marvel.
Her own confidence could mean her ultimate loss against the female Avenger.
3 Scarlet Witch: Hex (Chaos) Bolts
Scarlet Witch has a special power called Hex Bolts that she can't necessarily control. These Hex controls are monitored by where her eyes go and come out at various times during emotional stress or rage.
These Hex Bolts are huge to her overall ability of sorcery relating heavily on how the Marvel character came to be. Her backstory is dark and demonic with her powers erupting from birth in the presence of demon Chthon.
2 Captain Marvel: Her 'Seventh Sense'
This acts as a spider-sense where Captain Marvel can detect danger even before it happens. In a fight against Scarlet Witch, she may have several weaknesses when facing off but would most likely be able to foresee her attacks before she performs them.
This gives her a huge edge on navigating and controlling the outcome of the fight.
1 Scarlet Witch: Healing Powers
Scarlet Witch's healing powers wouldn't really help her in a battle against Captain Marvel because Captain Marvel can also heal herself (like Wolverine can.) However, she uses magic with her healing which means if she had time to during battle she could heal herself and come out of the process being much stronger than she went in.
Historically, the healing powers that Captain Marvel has is more supernatural and has flaws. Scarlet Witch's healing powers are fueled by magic making them much stronger.
