Samuel L. Jackson has dropped a major spoiler regarding Carol Danvers' cat, Goose, in Captain Marvel.
For months now, evidence has been mounting that Goose is more than just a cat, and Jackson has finally confirmed Goose is indeed, as in the comics, a Flerken. When asked by Nerdist what he would call a buddy cop movie featuring Nick Fury and Goose, he replied, "Somebody called it 'Fury & Flerken.' Yeah, alright. 'Flerken Fury.'"
This is seemingly the first time that someone has explicitly called Goose a Flerken. However, it's been clear that something is up with that cat for awhile. Last week, a toy leak did indicated Goose was a Flerken, as it showed tentacles emerging from his mouth. However, toys and merchandising can be misleading -- as the Russo brothers have previously explained. Still, if Goose is indeed a Flerken, he'll certainly be a force to be reckoned with in Captain Marvel.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass and McKenna Grace as a young Carol Danvers. The film arrives on March 8.
