Captain Marr-Vell is one of the most overpowered individuals in the entire Marvel superhero roster. From his wrist-mounted Uni-Beam (which could shoot a universal array of beams) to having access to the Nega-Bands, the Kree warrior known as Captain Marvel is an overpowered Kree Super-Soldier that stood toe-to-toe with Thanos at his strongest.

But this article isn't about Marr-Vell, it's about the second Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers. Originally a retired Colonel working as a security officer at NASA, who after being involved in an accident involving Marr-Vell and a Kree Psyche-Magnetron, her DNA was changed and she gained Kree Powers. Her history was recently retconned to reveal that she is a Kree-Human hybrid, with powers that rival that of Marr-Vell. But some powers are ones that she's either only used once, or never used at all.

10 Immunity To Toxins & Poisons

Carol Danvers Captain Marvel

Having her DNA altered by Kree technology and hidden Kree/Human hybrid powers activated, Captain Marvel is essentially a Kree/Human Super Soldier. Much like her predecessor Captain Marr-Vell, the modern Captain Marvel is immune to any form of poison or toxin she might unintentionally ingest or be forced to consume. Not to mention, her body is also automatically immune to any form of venom she might be injected with, should the situation arrive. So trying to kill her quietly is impossible.

9 Cosmic Precognition

A power she unknowingly gained having her physiology manipulated by the Psyche-Magnetron, Carol Dangers has a form of Cosmic Precognition that only a few have acquired in Marvel Comics history. Much like Peter Parker's spider-sense, Captain Marvel has a "seventh sense" of sorts, which allows her to know when she is in danger or when something is wrong in the universe. She's unknowingly used it whenever she says something along the lines of "Wait, something's coming" or "Something's wrong," but most fans just attribute this to vocalizing when something is wrong, or hearing something approaching.

8 Control Over Radiation

Captain Marvel's powers aren't exactly easy to explain sometimes. she can shoot energy beams out of her body, but they aren't really energy beams. Technically, Carol Danvers is shooting a form of radiation that she is manipulating with her altered Kree/Human Hybrid physiology. It's connected to both her awoken powers and her access to the famed Binary Form. But she can also control latent radiation from space and either absorb it, repel it, or even release it in the form of energy beams.

7 Control Over Gravity

Captain Marvel's ability to fly is not just a power she has as a comic-trope. Carol Danvers's ability to flight comes from her power to control gravity, a fact that is only shown through the use of flight.

The power is indirectly connected to her binary form, but technically speaking, Captain Marvel has the power to control and manipulate gravity in a similar version to the Marvel villain, Graviton. The fact that she doesn't do so is just due to the fact that she doesn't know she even can, or tried.

6 Power Of A White Hole

To properly explain the previous two powers, one needs to delve into Captain Marvel's talked about ultimate power, her Binary Form. This form actually originated after she was subjected to an Evolutionary Ray by the Alien Race, the Brood. This ray activated more abilities within Carol's genes, and she activated a series of limitless powers that were directly connected to a White Hole. Because of this, the physical limitations of the Binary form are unknown, but she has been shown to be able to transmute matter, much like a White Hole.

5 Cosmic Reconstitution

Having Cosmic precognition, Gravity manipulation, radiation control, and access to the energies of a While Hole, Carol became one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe. While trying to prevent the Earth's sun from burning up, as part of a Kree plot against the Avengers, Carol released the energy inside of her, which resulted in her physical body disintegrating. But as a result of her powers, she quickly reconstituted herself back subconsciously, losing some of her powers in the process having released them beforehand.

4 Light-Speed Travel

Being a former pilot, Carol Danvers loves to fly. She's been recorded breaking the sound barrier without putting an effort, and her powers allow her to fly through space without a suit. But Having the ability to subconsciously control gravity has its perks. Aside from flying through space, Captain Marvel can use her gravity powers to alter the gravity around her body, which turns her body into a Hyper-Drive" of sorts. This means that her body, which s full of energy, can travel at lights speed should she desire so.

3 Solar Energy Absorption

Another perk of having the ability to control and absorb radiation is that your body also serves as a solar battery. Much like how Superman's cells absorb solar radiation and store it in his body, Captain Marvel's powers allow her to absorb photons from the sun and absorb them in her body.

Her radiation powers control the electromagnetic radiation of said photons, allowing her to manipulate them to her desire. She always limits such power to shooting energy beams from her fist, but she unknowingly can do much more.

2 Teleportation To Pop In & Out Of Existence

Captain Marvel Fighting Marvel Comics

In the comics, Captain Marvel's binary form stems from a white hole, which is a theoretical singularity from which matter, light, and radiation escape (though it cannot enter it). As a result, Captain Marvel's powers are also simultaneously connected to a black hole. Since she can manipulate her own gravity, she can raise it enough and alter her own radioactive energy to alter the space between particles and pop in and out of existence.  This power is even more possible for the MCU version of Carol Danvers since her powers stem from the Tesseract, which is a housing for an Infinity Stone that controls space.

1 Generation Of Illusions

Carol In Battle Captain Marvel

With great powers to control gravity and photons comes great responsibility, especially in Captain Marvel's case. Although she's never used it, never attempted to use it, or even known she could use it, Captain Marvel technically has the power to create illusions. This is possible through her ability to control gravity and radiation. With said powers, she can control the photons and light particles around her, and create illusions that can trick the naked eye. This was a known power of the now-dead Marr-vell, but few people know that Carol Danver's has her own version of it.
