Captain Marvel is the most recent Avenger to be introduced in the MCU, yet fans of her appearances and run in the comics have known about this hero for much longer. With that in mind, there is always room to learn, even when it comes to those heroes the fandom loves the most.

Carol Danvers has plenty of powers, many of which she does not get to use as often as fans would like; including some that have yet to be explored in the cinematic universe. The lack of exploration of these more niche powers can cause fans to forget about them, but that does not make them any less real or impressive as her more prominently featured powers.

10 Space Travel

One thing that is easy to forget about Carol Danvers, especially given all the tech that can circumvent this issue: she can safely travel through space unassisted. She doesn't need any suit to make it safe for her.

That glowing aura fans can see in the movies? That's all her. She doesn't even need the iconic helmet, that's just a fashion choice she went with.

9 Higher, Further, Faster

Captain Marvel Marvel Comics

Her most famous slogan takes on a whole new meaning when one realizes that Carol Danvers can fly faster than the speed of sound. Given that she's constantly pushing herself to, as she says, go higher, further, and faster, it's no surprise that she quickly learned this trick.

Thanks to her history as a pilot, Carol is fearless in the air. That's a good thing, considering she frequently reaches Mach-3 when she's flying around.

8 Superhuman Durability

That's right, Captain Marvel has joined the ranks of Marvel superheroes with superhuman durability. It takes a lot more than a good hit (or two) to take this girl down. Really, it's more than basic durability.

While she can certainly take a beating, the truth is that some weapons just won't have an impact on her. We've seen bullets bounce off her skin, so shooting her won't work. Likewise, she's survived bombs, beatings from other superheroes, great falls (the risk that comes from flying high), and so much more.

7 Superhuman Agility

Superhuman agility might seem over-rated, but don't count it out. It's that very same agility that allows Captain Marvel to fly around at the speeds she does – without crashing into everything in sight. It also gives her a decent edge in a fight.

Carol's reflexes were already well-honed before her transformation (pilot's sort of need that skill), but they hit superhuman levels once she took in her abilities.

6 Immune to Most Toxins

Captain Marvel

One might have noticed that most superheroes don't get sick. With some heroes it's hard to be certain on the reason why, but not with Carol. She has significantly higher immunity to both toxins and diseases.

We wish her enemies good luck in trying to poison her, as she is likely to not even fall ill from the exposure. Though interestingly enough, both of these abilities have played a part in her series, showing the limitations of her powers.

5 Gravity Is In Her Grasp

Fans already know that Carol is at her strongest when she is in her Binary form. This is a form that has given her so much power, it's almost difficult to comprehend. As such, it shouldn't shock you to hear that Binary also gives her the ability to control gravity.

This just falls under her ability to create and manipulate energy, it's just been pushed to the most extreme possibilities available.

4 Teleportation

This is a power that has rarely been explored within her canon series. Fans know that Carol received her powers from Marr-Vell, and as such, she should theoretically be able to do anything he could.

So, why hasn't she teleported? Many fans believe that the thought simply has not occurred to her. That or she saw how much it took out of Mar-Vell and opted to find other means of traveling.

3 Seventh Sense

This is another ability of hers that is rarely ever explored in her canon. Captain Marvel has what has been called a 'Seventh Sense', which is her ability to sense danger.

Her 'Seventh Sense' has been shown to give her pre-cognitive hallucinations of a sort, as a way of showing her oncoming threats.

2 Regeneration

Captain Marvel, like many a hero out in the Marvel universe, has the ability to heal and regenerate. Fans have seen her survive hits that no normal person ever could have dreamed of. Likewise, they've seen her heal from them as well.

Her regeneration hasn't been pushed as hard as say, Deadpool or Wolverine, but there's no doubt that she's dealing with an advanced version of it. After all, fans have seen her come back from both an assassination and an explosion.

1 Energy Absorption (And Manipulation)

Captain Marvel is capable of both energy absorption and manipulation. That may not sound like a huge advantage – but it is important to consider the fact that numerous villains and heroes in the Marvel Comic Book canon often use energy attacks.

When they use the types of attacks against Carol, all they do is offer her an easy power up. It's worth noting that she isn't limited to one power source either, as fans have seen her take in and alter several different types during her time as a hero.
