As Captain Marvel enters the final stages of its theatrical run, it has now passed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at the domestic box office.

According to Box Office MojoCaptain Marvel has earned over $394 million at the domestic box office. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 earned $389 million at the box office in 2017. This means Captain Marvel is now the 7th highest-grossing MCU film ever, just below Captain America: Civil War at $408 million.

Captain Marvel broke past Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's worldwide total fairly early on in its run, as the latter earned $863.7 million at the worldwide box office. In comparison, Captain Marvel has now earned $1.072 billion and is well on its way to catching up with The Dark Knight Rises at $1.084 billion, though it might not beat that number when all is said and done.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Yon-Rogg, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass, McKenna Grace as a young Carol Danvers and Annette Bening as the Supreme Intelligence. The movie is in theaters now.
