The latest photo from Captain Marvel, unveiled Monday by star Brie Larson to encourage voting in U.S. midterm elections, is jam-packed with symbols of the 1990s, from Rock the Vote posters to, well, a pay phone. But eagle-eyed fans may spot an element on that relic that transports many them into the early 21st century: a 1-800 number used in commercials for the Tipton Hotel from Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

However, ignore that warm wave of nostalgia and resist calling it. That's not the toll-free number for the fictional Tipton. It's for a live-sex chat line. Seriously.

Oh, once upon a time, 1-800-654-2192 was maintained by Disney and ABC as a nonworking number, occasionally used in such shows as Alias and The Suite Life. It was kind of like 555, the telephone prefix commonly used in films, television series and video games, although this toll-free actually existed. Callers were apparently greeted with the message, "Thank you for calling ABC. The number you have reached is a fictional, non-working number used for motion picture and television productions." But that's no longer the case.

Now, it's "Welcome to America's hottest talk line." Not pay-phone repairs or refunds, as that Captain Marvel image might suggest, and certainly not the (fictional) luxury Tipton Hotel in Boston.

So, yeah, don't call that 800 number thinking you'll get a viral ad for Captain Marvel or a clue about Avengers 4. Of course, if you're into "hot" talk, we won't judge you. Just be aware that whoever is on the other end could very well be a Skrull. Again, no judgments.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace and Annette Bening. The film arrives March 8, 2019.
