Carol Danvers stands ready for battle in the first motion poster for Captain Marvel.As we head into the new year, Marvel Studios is readying fans to finally meet Brie Larson's Carol Danvers when Captain Marvel takes the big screen in just a few months. The studio unveiled a brand new motion poster of the latest hero to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring Carol's iconic "Higher, Further, Faster" tagline from writer Kelly Sue DeConnick's iconic run, which saw Carol undergo a major character reinvention.RELATED: Disney's Captain Marvel Website Reveals Jude Law's Character

While the motion poster doesn't necessarily show anything new, it comes on the heels of news that a brand new look at the highly anticipated film is set to debut January 7th on ESPN during the College Football Playoff National Championship game. As we continue to inch closer to the film's March release, it's safe to presume Disney and Marvel Studios will continue to reveal more about the forthcoming film. For now, fans can get excited knowing that after years of waiting, Carol's time has nearly come.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace as young Carol, and Annette Bening in an undisclosed role. The film arrives March 8, 2019.
