The wait for the hotly anticipated release of Captain Marvel is down to 100 days. To celebrate, the film's Twitter account has debuted a motion poster showing Brie Larson's Carol Dnavers gleaming with power before a backdrop of space and the text "100 DAYS".
Fans can begin counting down from there along with the Twitter account, which accompanied the image with, "100 days. Marvel Studios' #CaptainMarvel is in theaters March 8, 2019."
The film's release date coincides with 2019's International Women's Day -- unlikely a coincidence, as Carol Danvers will be the first female solo star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her debut has been met with much fanfare from both the studio and fans.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace and Annette Bening in as-yet-undisclosed roles. The film arrives March 8, 2019.
