After seven weeks in releases, Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel has achieved yet another major milestone at the box office. The film, which recently crossed $1 billion worldwide, has officially surpassed $400 million at the domestic box office.

Captain Marvel took in another $9 million this weekend, which was enough to secure fourth place in what is being hailed as the worst Easter weekend in over a decade. Interestingly enough, Captain Marvel actually earned more this weekend than it did last weekend. Last weekend, the film actually took in $8.6 million and sixth place. However, it appears the superhero flick received a bump in sales this weekend with Avengers: Endgame now just days away.

Carol Danvers is now the fourth hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to surpass the $400 million mark domestically in a solo film. For comparison sake, Black Panther earned $700 million domestically, while Iron Man 3 pulled in $409 million domestically and Captain America: Civil War earned $408 million stateside. (Despite other heroes appearing in Civil War, it's still technically a Cap solo film.) The film also took in another $6.5 million overseas, bringing its international total to an impressive $689.5 million. Altogether, Captain Marvel is currently sitting at around $1.09 billion worldwide.

Most recently, Captain Marvel passed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at the domestic box office. The latter film finished its theatrical run with $389.8 million domestically and $$863.7 million globally.

With Carol set to join the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame, which opens this week, it's entirely possible her solo film will see yet another slight bump next weekend as Marvel Studios' latest hero continues to fly higher, further and faster. It remains to be seen how much of a bump Endgame will give Captain Marvel, but it's worth noting upon the release of Avengers: Infinity War last year, both that film and Black Panther continued to remain within the top ten at the box office -- something we'll likely see again this year with Endgame and Captain Marvel.
