The announcement last week of the official start of production on Captain Marvel brought with it the news that Lee Pace will reprise his Guardians of the Galaxy role as Ronan the Accuser. While fans generally liked Pace's performance in the 2014 blockbuster, his antagonist was regarded as rather one-note, and was killed off in the end.

However, the 1990s setting of Captain Marvel permits Ronan to once again menace the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But if you're looking for any additional information, don't rely on Pace.

In a recent interview with NBC New York, the actor immediately conceded he "knew nothing" about his role in the film, which stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. "I don't know anything! I don't know any secrets," he laughed. But while he wasn't able to divulge any information, he did say that he was excited to be back in the MCU

Because Captain Marvel is involves the alien Kree, Ronan's inclusion makes sense. Not only is he a member of the alien race, he also interacted frequently in the comics with Captain Mar-vell, who serves as the catalyst for Carol Danvers acquiring her powers. Fellow Guardians cast member Djimon Honsou will be in this film as well, reprising his role as Korath the Pursuer.
