Captain Marvel will force Carol Danvers to look in the mirror to a dark reflection she never wanted to see again.

A Marvel Comics preview for Captain Marvel #32 brings back the Last Avenger suit worn by Carol between Issues #12 and #16 of the current ongoing series. Captain Marvel: The Last Avenger saw Carol forced to hunt down her best friends and teammates and kill them for Vox Supreme. In this preview, the dark black and red suit she donned in the arc has returned with a new host gunning for Carol.

The Last Avenger was a bleak time for Captain Marvel, to say the least. The suit she wore was forced upon her by Vox Supreme and used to monitor and control her. The villain gave Carol an ultimatum where if she didn't kill five Avengers within 24 hours, the being would destroy every Kree refugee camp, killing countless innocents.

Carol was able to convince Vox Supreme that she had killed five Avengers by using dead clones of her teammates, but it wasn't as easy as presenting the being with their bodies. She still had to fight her friends, including Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, She-Hulk and Captain America to make it convincing. She was able to remove the suit and defeat Vox Supreme at the end of the arc, but it seems the suit wasn't destroyed.

The preview sees Captain Marvel flying through the air as she enjoys soaring through the sky. Her fun is cut short when she begins to be fired upon by bursts of energy. After being knocked down to the ground, Carol sees that the Last Avenger suit has a new host, though they aren't very talkative.

The host attempts to speak with Carol, but due to the suit being able to control its host, it is believed that she is unable to communicate. Carol sees this as a clear sign that Vox Supreme must be behind the suit and its new host, and begins to fight back against her attacker and dark reflection. The preview for the issue can be found below, which will kick off the series' next arc, "The Last of the Marvels."
